We will call to offer assignments as soon as they are available. We know you will accept if possible, however, we understand when you cannot accept. The most important thing to remember is that you do not have to accept every assignment, but you do need to complete any assignment you accept. We will make every effort to tell you about all aspects of the job ahead of time so that you are aware of what the assignment will entail and so you are comfortable. We will also try to avoid last minute assignments, but occasionally the need arises and we will need to be able to assign people. So please be flexible! Let us know that you are available by calling us approximately once a week. When you call in your availability your name will be put on the "availability list" and we usually check that first when an assignment becomes available.
It is our top priority to place you in a position you are excited about, but we need your help. The following are just a few things you can do to make yourself more marketable.
Skills -
Upon registering with our firm you were questioned and tested on any work related skills and experience you possess. Have you obtained more skills or experience? Have you thought of something you forgot to mention? Are you interested in our training programs? The more you know the better the position we can place you in.
Resume -
An updated, professional, error-free resume is your second most important marketing tool. Have you provided our office with an electronic copy? Have you updated it with any new information? Do you need help writing or perfecting this tool? Our clients often ask to review the resumes of the candidates we propose, make your resume grab attention and get selected!
Professionalism -
ConTemporaries strives to place the most professional employees this area has to offer. We have chosen you among many candidates to represent our firm and it is therefore important that you put your best foot forward. When preparing for each position keep in mind there may be other opportunities for employment you may not be aware of. Your performance can lead to greater success for our company and additional opportunities for you. We always say, "Dress and perform for the position you want not the one you have."
- Your attire and hygiene must be impeccable at all times.
- We ask that all of our employees dress professionally - skirt/slacks & blouse or shirt and tie.
- Occasionally a client may have a more casual dress code if this is the case khaki pants and a shirt/sweater are appropriate.
- Do not make personal calls - in the event of an emergency you may release our phone number as a point of contact.
- Do not surf the Internet except for professional purposes.
- Keep all correspondence via mail/email work related.
- Always be flexible and willing to help.
