Who We Are

ConTemporaries, Inc. is a women-owned staffing firm. We specialize in the placement of supplemental staff for various occupations within various Federal Government agencies and private sector companies.

Our History

In April of 1991 Betsy and Paul F. Donohue incorporated their company in the state of Maryland as the staffing firm ConTemporaries, Inc. Their vision was to establish a staffing firm that would become unparalleled in its field, with the primary objective of providing the Washington, DC Metropolitan area with temporary and permanent administrative personnel. Mrs. Donohue functioned initially as the operations manager, recruiting, hiring and placing employees with clients, while Mr. Donohue generated business both with the Federal Government and the private sector. Within the first year of business, ConTemporaries, Inc. established itself as a qualified competitor in the staffing industry within the DC market.

By June of 1993 ConTemporaries sales volume had increased to the point of requiring additional staff to fulfill the needs of both our employees and clients, therefore, a Staffing Coordinator and a Marketing Representative were hired.

Since that time our firm has continue to grow; each year we surpass the previous in sales and expertise. We continue to add new services to our repertoire to meet the changing needs of our clients. ConTemporaries is now considered a dominant player in the staffing industry around the DC Metro area and we look forward to our continued success.
